Skeeter Davis

原名Mary Frances Penick (1931 – 2004),
是美國六十年代由鄉謠歌手轉唱流行曲的著名藝人,
1947年她與中學同學Betty Jack Davis 合組Davis Sisters,
在當地電台表演, 至1960年才解散。
Skeeter Davis以個人身份闖樂壇,
1963年一曲The end of the world令她世界知名,
她先後得過四項格林美獎, 她也作曲,
也是一個很受歡迎的電台民謠節目Grand Ole Opry 的常客,
但在1973年因在節目中說了一些宗教及政治的言論,
被禁開咪15個月, 自此光芒漸退,
最後一次登台是2002年, 2004年因癌病去世, 亨年72歲。

她的歌聲甜美, 是鄰家小女孩的型像, 是當年少男的夢中情人。

安妮莫莉（安瑪莉）1946年6月20日出生於加拿大的Springhill, Nova Scotia的一個醫生家庭。
安妮從小就受到當地頗有名望的音樂人士的啟蒙教育，她常自彈自唱，並以此為樂。

Eydie Gormé 1931年出生的美國女歌手,
她的丈夫也是著名歌手及作曲家史蒂夫勞倫斯Steve Lawrence,
由於她的歌多屬於Easy Listening和Adult Contemporary 一類,
所以除了Blame It On The Bossa Nova外只有幾首歌入到Hot 100榜。

但她在樂壇上的成就是非常成功, 1967年她憑音樂劇Mane內的
一首"If He Walked Into My Life"拿到當年格林美Grammy Award
最佳女歌手獎, 她與Steve的電视音樂節目也得了一個艾美獎Emmy,

1919年,英國劍橋大學一位猶太學生亞伯拉罕，
一心想成為贏得奧運會百米賽金牌得第一個猶太人，
以此來對抗種族偏見，為同胞爭光。
蘇格蘭也有一個決心奪取奧運會百米金牌得青年利德爾,
父親是傳教士，他也是個虔誠的教徒。他認為，
運動員應具備頑強意志和獻身精神，這和基督的教義是一致的，
既然天賜他一雙飛毛腿，就是要為上帝爭光。
1920年，蘇格蘭和法國舉行田徑比賽，利德爾代表蘇格蘭參加。
正當競爭激烈的時候，利德爾忽然摔倒，但他毫不氣餒，急起直追，
終於搶先到達了終點。
亞伯拉罕在看台上目睹這場意志創造奇蹟的比賽，十分激動。
他熱切地請求意大利職業教練穆薩比尼指導他練習。穆薩比尼沒有答應。
1932年，倫敦舉行全國性運動會，利德爾和亞伯拉罕在跑道上相會。
利德爾獲得冠軍，亞伯拉罕落後了兩碼。
他的女友、歌劇演員西比爾安慰他下次定能超過利德爾，
但亞伯拉罕說，他的速度似乎已達到了極限，再也無法提高了。
在場的意大利教練看到在這個失敗者身上有一種渴望拼搏的精神，
決定助他一臂之力，便對他說：“那兩碼包在我身上！
穆薩比尼教練針對亞伯拉罕訓練不足的弱點，指導他從基本動作開始系統地進行訓練。
失去自信的亞伯拉罕漸漸恢復了信心。
1924年，第8屆奧運會在巴黎舉行。英國隊起程赴法時，
利德爾才知道百米預賽將在星期天舉行。
按當時基督教規定，星期天是安息日，不得工作。
他考慮再三，最後決定遵守教義，退出比賽。
各國健兒云集巴黎。英國王子威爾斯親王赴巴黎督戰。
然而最有希望獲勝得百米選手利德爾卻臨時放棄了比賽，
領隊懇切得要求他為國王的榮譽參加比賽。
利德爾只回答：“國家、國王也都是上帝所造。 ”
正在雙方相持不下之際，英國隊四百米選手林賽勳爵
主動把自己參加四百米賽的權利讓給了利德爾，
因為那場比賽不在安息日舉行。利德爾在最短時間內刻苦鍛煉耐力。
比賽時，利德爾不僅奪得四百米賽冠軍，而且打破了這個項目的世界紀錄。
觀眾向他歡呼，同伴把他抬在肩上。
利德爾高舉起緊握的雙手，向無私地成全了他的林賽勳爵致敬。
參加短跑的亞伯拉罕雖然沒有遭遇上利德爾，但和他角逐的對手全是美國短跑名將。
不過亞伯拉罕這時已經領悟到，面前的障礙不是對手，而是自己的信心不足。
他克服了這個心理障礙，信心百倍地參加了百米決賽，終於奪得了冠軍。

《莎韻之鐘》的故事發生於1938年台灣日治時期的台北州蘇澳郡蕃地
（今宜蘭縣南澳鄉 ）莎韻(サヨン)是宜蘭縣泰雅族利有亨社的原住民，1921年出生。
在她17歲那年，族裏「利有亨教育所」的日本老師田北正記收到徵兵召集令，
莎詠在溪水 暴漲的危險下，替田北老師扛行李，結果涉溪時被暴漲的溪水沖走，
最後只打撈到田北老師 的行李, 而台灣總督為了表揚莎韻義行，
頒贈予當地的紀念桃形銅鐘，即稱莎韻之鐘。

1941年年底，太平洋戰爭爆發.在當時因應大東亞共榮圈的宣傳需要的情況下
將莎詠的故事拍攝成為電影，女主角的戲份也被美化，
成為一名仁慈、愛國、有愛心、純情的臺灣原 住民，
為送行被徵召從軍的老師而失足落水而死的女子。
莎詠的故事便這麼的流傳下來。

1946年於美國阿里桑那州出生,60年代末期，她以鄉村歌手的姿態進樂壇，
70年代轉唱流行搖滾樂, 成為巨星。
1980登上大銀幕，主演音樂劇電影The Pirates of Penzance，
四年之後，甚至登上紐約大都會歌劇院的舞台，演出歌劇「波西米亞人」。
在娛樂界四十多年來得獎無數, 19張金唱片,14張白金唱片, ７張超白金,
11個格林美獎(音樂)Grammy Award, 從1970至2000年每年都最少有一首歌上榜,
一個艾美獎(電視)Emmy Award, 一個東尼獎(戲劇)Tony Award,
一個金球獎(電視及電影)Golden Globe Award。
她的唱片銷量達一億張。

很多外國藝人都樂於表達自己的政治理念, 而且不也忌權勢,
Linda也不例外, 2004年她在L.A.開演唱會尾聲時,
向觀衆大讚Michael Moore的環保紀錄片Fahrenheit 9/11,
及指布殊攻打伊拉克是錯誤的, 當時的觀衆一半歡呼,
而另一半則報以噓聲,之後更被所往酒店'請走',
幸而受到一羣理念相同的樂壇朋友支持,
而The Eagles更立刻取消他們的L.A.演唱會只示支持。

Woodstock 胡士托音樂會1969

Woodstock 1969 胡士托音樂會是流行樂壇有史以來第一次大型户外音樂會,
由1969年8月15至17日舉行, 至今剛好四十年了, 地点是美國紐約州一個
佔地2.4平方公里的牧場之內,共有三十二隊表演者, 約30萬人参加了者三天的盛會,
觀衆從美國各地用不同交通工具到來, 本來預算五萬人, 最後來了三十萬人,
食,往,衛生也成了大問題, 最終縣政府要宣佈緊急狀態。
當時正是戰後嬰兒(Baby boomer)成長年代, 也是hippie 和Yippie 最盛時期,
這個音樂會正好作為這年代的紀念活動, 也有人看成是愛與和平
"Love & Peace" movement 運動！

The story centers on an immense golden bell named The Mother of Voices, which may or may not exist. Moorish king Aly Mansuh (Sidney Poitier) is convinced that it does. Having collected all the legendary material about it that he can, he plans to mount an expedition to search for it. When the shipwrecked Norseman, Rolfe (Richard Widmark), repeats the story of the bell in the marketplace, and hints that he knows its location, he is seized by Mansuh's men and brought in for questioning. Rolfe insists that he does not know and that the bell is only a myth. He manages to escape before the questioning continues under torture.

Managing to return home, Rolfe reveals to his father that he did indeed hear the bell pealing on the night his ship was wrecked in Africa. However, Rolfe's father has been made destitute after spending a fortune building a funeral ship for the Danish king, Harold Bluetooth, who then refuses to reimburse him citing an outstanding debt. Rationalizing that the ship does not yet belong to Harold (since he is still living), Rolfe and his brother steal not only the ship, but kidnap a number of inebriated vikings to serve as her crew. In order to prevent Harold from killing his father in revenge for the theft, he also takes the king's daughter as a hostage. Harold declares that he will summon every longship he can find and rescue her. After prolonged difficulties at sea, the ship is damaged in a maelstrom. The Norse are cast ashore in Mansuh's country. Captured by the Moors, the Norse are condemned to execution but Mansuh's favorite wife Aminah convinces her husband to use them and their longship to retrieve the bell.

Arriving at the Pillars of Hercules, Rolfe and Mansuh find only a domed chapel with a small bronze bell where the Viking was certain he had heard The Mother of Voices. Frustrated, Rolfe throws the hanging bell against a wall and the resounding cacophany reveals that the chapel dome is the disguised Mother of Voices. After a costly misadventure moving the Mother of Voices from its clifftop down to the sea, the expedition finally returns to the Moorish city, Aly Mansuh triumphantly riding through the streets with the bell in tow. As the group reaches Mansuh's palace, Aminah sudenly cries aloud that "The Long Ships came in the night" and is immediately shot down by an spear. A group of Vikings come leaping out from behind the silent townspeople. These Norsemen are King Harold's men, out to rescue the princess, and the climactic battle ensues. It ends when the bell falls over and crushes Aly Mansuh. The Moors are defeated and the Vikings victorious. The film ends as Rolfe tells King Harold about the "three crowns of the Saxon kings,".

To Hell And Back 百戰榮歸 是1955年一套非常賣坐的戰爭片。
此片以一位二戰英雄的真人真事改編而成,
這位英雄也就是演這片的主角奥迪梅菲Audie Murphy自已。

奧迪出生於一個九兄弟姊妹的貧窮家庭,
由於父親拋棄了他們, 母親亦不幸去世,
他以大哥身份只有負起養家的責任,
二戰爆發, 他決定從軍, 1942年報名參加海軍陸戰隊,
當時他才16歲，身高5呎5吋,體重110磅, 因身形被拒, 報考空軍也不成功。
最後考陸軍，他們覺得多個兵擋子彈也不算多，於是就收了他。
他表現不算好，有一次在訓練時昏倒了，他們便派他去當炊事兵。
但他仍然堅持要上戰場，於是他們把他送上了前線。

在攻占意大利的過程中，他因為射擊技術高超晉升為下士，
1944年被派到法國南部。因一個德國機槍小隊詐降後打死了他最好的朋友,
他非常憤暴怒幹掉了機槍工事裡的所有敵人，然後用敵人的武器消滅了
半徑100碼範圍內的所有敵軍，包括另兩個機槍工事的狙擊手。
因此獲得銅十字英勇勳章，晉升為排長。

大約半年之後，他的連隊受命保衛法國的要塞科爾馬口袋（Colmar Pocket），
他們此時只有19個人（一開始有128人）和幾輛M-10坦克。
德軍出動重兵和六輛坦克, 但因為援軍暫未到，他們只有躲在戰壕裡，
此時M-10亦被炸毁, 五呎半高的梅菲暴險跑到一輛壞了的M-10上，
跳進去之後操起點五零口徑的機槍開始掃射視野裡的所有東西。
而著了火、加滿油的M-10基本上就是個死亡陷阱。
他在裡面打了將近一個小時，直到子彈用完，
他走回那幫震驚的士兵旁，不一會那輛M-10便爆炸了。
為此戰功聯軍授予他所有勳章。
（他總共得了33枚，其中有幾種勳章他得了兩枚，還有5枚法國的，1枚比利時的）

戰後，他罹患彈震症，吃了抗抑鬱劑乙氯維諾成癮，不個他不参加什麼戒癮計劃，
而是把自己鎖在一間汽車旅館的房間裡一周，便戒掉了。
他寫了本自傳，名為《百戰榮歸》（To Hell and Back）。
此片打破了動作片賣座紀錄, 一直至20年才被《大白鯊》打破。。

633 squadron 是聯藝電影公司1964年拍的空戰電影
由英國導演華特．格羅曼Walter Grauman掌舵，
奇里夫．羅拔遜Cliff Robertson
佐治．查格里斯George Chakiris主演。

描述二次世界大戰期間，德軍在挪威的一處險峻山谷中研發長程飛彈，
準備對英國展開致命攻擊。英國皇家空軍RAF接獲情報，
組成六三三轟炸大隊進行特殊訓練，動用蚊式轟炸機（Mosquito）
企圖飛進這個具有高度危險性的峽灣內摧毀懸崖下的工廠。
另一方面，挪威當地的反抗軍則協助破壞保護工廠的高射砲，
反抗軍首領的妹妹更與大隊長產生了一段淒美的愛情。
全片敘事手法雖然比較傳統，但劇情豐富緊湊，
轟炸大隊執行不可能的任務也過程艱鉅，娛樂性相當高。

最高時速668公里/小時, 續航力2,400公里,
飛行高度11,000公尺,可載1,800公斤炸彈。
是英國二次世界大戰時期服役的一款雙引擎轟炸機。
因為機身結構以木材為主，又有木製奇蹟（Wooden Wonder）的綽號,
引擎是勞斯萊斯生產 除了擔任日間轟炸任務以外，
還有夜間戰鬥機、偵察機等衍生型號。

拍此片時動用了八隻蚊式機, 其中五隻真的能起飛,
其餘三隻只停在跑道上拍攝駕駛倉內鏡頭。

Mark Dinning

Mark Dinning(1933 - 1986) 是美國六十年代的偶像派歌手,
他的幾位姊姊在四＋年代曾組成了一隊名The Dinning Sisters
的合唱團, 所以可說是生於音樂世家。
他的聲線帶點憂怨味, 在1957年進入歌壇,
最初以民謠為主,至1960年因一曲"Teen Angel"而有點名氣,
後來灌錄的唱片在歐美都不甚流行, 而且因有酗酒惡習,
所以並不很受歡迎, 但他的幾首歌如The World Is Getting Smaller,
Come Back To Me My Love等,在香港竟然非常流行,
相信是與當年幾位電台DJ熱捧有關,
可惜如此有天份的樂壇偶像只活了53年便離世。

莫札特（ Wolfgang A. Mozart， 1756-1791）是奧地利天才音樂家,
被封音樂神童， 5歲開始作曲， 7、 8歲創作的兩首樂章，
隱世逾 200年後重見天日，前天（周日）在他故居首度演奏。
樂曲動聽，演奏家卻指難度高得「有點瘋狂」，應是小莫札特想炫耀才華之作。


兩首樂章曲譜寫在莫札特姊姊音樂書上，由於是爸爸利奧波德（ Leopold）的筆迹，
一直被誤以為是利奧波德所作。但研究員發現兩首樂章風格浮誇，既要「交叉手彈奏」，
又因音符相距很遠而令雙手要在鍵盤上跳躍，加上有技術錯誤，
經研究後專家斷定是莫札特 7至 8歲鍵盤之作，當時他未懂寫譜，所以由爸爸代筆。
兩首樂章，一首是長約一分鐘的 G大調鋼琴序曲，一首是約四分鐘的 G大調協奏曲。
前日由比爾薩克（ Florian Birsak）在莫札特薩爾茨堡故居，
用莫札特小時候的古鋼琴首次演奏。
他說，彈奏 G大調協奏曲時有點難度，因為音符「跳得很遠」；
合奏的萊文（ Robert Levin）則說，莫札特想炫耀「全部才華，有點瘋狂」。樂迷可到國際莫札特基金會網站 mozarteum.at試聽兩首樂章。

John Denver

約翰·丹佛（John Denver 1943- 1997），是一名美國鄉謠作曲家及歌手，
曾經在70年代以許多膾炙人口的歌曲紅極一時，他錄製以及發行的歌曲超過300首，
約有一半的歌是他作曲。

1979年鄧小平訪美時，John Dever應邀在華盛頓甘迺迪文化中心表演。
不久他也來到中國拜訪並巡迴演唱，
中國之行後創作了歌曲《Shanghai's Breeze》（上海的微風）。
他也是中國觀眾最為熟悉的美國歌手之一。

丹佛非常熱愛大自然，他是野生動物保護協會（Wildlife Conservation Society）會員，
並曾舉辦多場慈善演唱會為其募款。也成立了2000年植樹基金會（PLANT-IT 2000），
到2000年，在全球各角落適合之地種植至少兩千萬棵本土植物。

John Denver在1997年10月12日，因為駕駛飛機失事，最後享年54歲。

喜劇歌舞。又名《雪裡梅》原為桂戲中的一個戲段，為桂劇名旦小飛燕擅演，
後經戴愛蓮與彭松加工改編為歌舞，由一人扮演成兩人，舞者上身著女裝、作女性動作，

陽春白雪一詞最早出現於戰國時期，在《文選》的一篇宋玉《對楚王問》中
宋玉回答楚王：「客有歌於郢中者，其始曰《下里巴人》，國中屬而和者數千人；
其為《陽阿薤露》，國中屬而和者數百人；
其為《陽春白雪》，國中屬而和者不過數十人；
引商刻羽，雜以流徵，國中屬而和者不過數人而已。
是其曲彌高，其和彌寡。」
其意思為「楚國的都城郢地有人高歌，
當他開始唱《下里巴人》時，有數千人能與他相和。
唱《陽阿薤露》時，有數百人能與之相和。唱《陽春白雪》時，
只有數十人能與他相和。等到他唱古時的雅樂時，僅有數人還能與之相和。
