Karl Jenkins

Karl Jenkins 是威爾斯Welsh現代古典樂 modern classical 大師
2005英女皇授以OBE(Order of the British Empire)勳章,
以表揚他對古典音樂的貢獻。他畢業於英國皇家音樂學院,
最初加入流行樂隊, 玩爵士樂, 至七十年代尾, 改為廣告音樂創作,
之後組成Adiemus樂團, 以管絃樂及和唱形式演繹出現代音樂。

The Mamas & the Papas 是60年代的民謠樂隊由
最初由Denny Doherty, Cass Elliot,
John Phillips, Michelle Phillips,
幾位組成, 1965 組成, 至1968因内部男女關係而解散,
又於1971年重組, 共出了8隻大碟,
銷量達四千萬。

The Mamas and the Papas是兩男兩女的組合,
1967年以California Dreamin ' 打入
美國樂壇。以三重唱和諧的歌聲得到輝煌的成績,
主音女歌手Cass Elliot歌藝非凡是全隊靈魂,
John Phillips是作曲和編曲。

渡辺はま子 (渡邊濱子)

1910年出生於日本神奈川縣橫濱市。
她是「支那之夜」、「蘇州夜曲」、「何日君再來〈日文版〉」、
「撒詠之鐘〈即國語歌曲『月光小夜曲』原曲」等歌曲的原唱者。
1945年８月，日本戰敗時她正在天津以唱歌慰問日兵，
戰敗後的幾個月，她成為中方的俘虜。
在天津為中國阿兵哥獻唱好幾場。
這首「夢中人」是她在天津過俘虜生活當中學到的。
她回到日本後把這首歌以及「薔薇處處開」等幾首中國歌曲以日語灌錄唱片。

渡辺はま子演唱（西条八十作詞・古賀政男作曲）
《莎韻之鐘》的故事發生於1938年台灣日治時期的
台北州蘇澳郡蕃地（今宜蘭縣南澳鄉）
莎韻(サヨン)是宜蘭縣泰雅族利有亨社的原住民，
1921年出生。在她17歲那年，族裏「利有亨教育所」
的日本老師田北正記收到徵兵召集令，莎詠在溪水暴漲的危險下，
替田北老師扛行李，結果涉溪時被暴漲的溪水沖走，
最後只打撈到田北老師的行李而台灣總督為了表揚莎韻義行，
頒贈予當地的紀念桃形銅鐘，即稱莎韻之鐘。
1941年年底，太平洋戰爭爆發.在當時因應大東亞共榮圈
的宣傳需要的情況下將莎詠的故事拍攝成為電影，
女主角的戲份也被美化，成為一名仁慈、愛國、有愛心、
純情的臺灣原住民，為送行被徵召從軍的老師而失足落水而死的女子。
莎詠的故事便這麼的流傳下來。

Van McCoy 原合Van Allen Clinton McCoy (1940 – 1979)
他是一位全才音樂人, 除作曲外, 他是编曲及樂隊指揮,
他為很多歌手作唱片監制包括Gladys Knight and the Pips,
The Stylistics, Aretha Franklin等,
而他自已最成功的作品就是1975年的The Hustle,
這首名曲時至今天在很多跳舞場合中時有出現。

他生於宗教家庭, 很少年紀便學鋼琴及参加唱詩班,
12歲能作曲及参加音樂表演, 曾考入哈彿大學讀心理學,
但只讀了兩年便退學, 及後自組唱片制作公司,
除自已出唱片外, 還替其他歌手制作唱片,
成為當時騷靈音樂界的大红人, 了惜天妒英才,
1979年因心臟病而去世。

Henry Mancini

Henry Mancini1924 – 1994是美國著名作曲家,
指揮家, 编曲家, 曾為電影及電視劇作了很多主題曲,
他的歡曲得了20個格林美獎,4個奥斯卡獎,
一個金球獎, 兩個艾美獎, 而提名的更不計其數,
1995年更得了終身成就獎。
從1940年的年代為Glenn Miller樂隊編曲，
開始Herny Mancini的作曲生涯，而在這之前，
他是Juilliard School of Music茱莉亞音樂學院的高材生。
他來說，要將銀幕的氣氛轉化成串串音符可說是易如反掌。
他曾如此說： “我很幸運能從1952年到1958年在大學中待了6年的時光，
這段時間就像我出師前的學徒時期，這6年鍛練我成為一個成熟的電影音樂製作者。
對一個從事電影音樂製作的作曲家來說，必須面對各種不同的銀幕上表現的計劃，
並著手於編曲，配樂，改編成管弦樂等各式樣的工作，
他必須利用日常生活的平凡題材，以極快的速度完成作品。
“ 的確，從過去時日來看，Mancini為一些高成就製作皂電影所謂寫的音樂，
已成為不朽的創作，不論是藍調爵士，
他說： “我所唯一學到的就是，好的音樂，能使好電影更出色，
但它絕不可能使一部爛電影變好。
我們是作曲家，不是魔術師，我們只是創作音樂;
在電影整體創作計劃中，我們只是其中重要的一環，而非全部，
一但它完成呈獻時，若我們能感到真的對於整體有所貢獻時，
那正是我們滿足與安慰的時刻。
“ 對於Mancini來說，音樂真是功效無窮，而他為The Pink Panther所譜的主題曲，
以及“第凡內早餐Breakfast at Tiffany's”的主題曲及插曲“Moon River” ，
都已成為歷久不衰的名曲。
Mancini 一生共指揮了600多場音樂會。

Paul Mauriat
保羅-莫里亞1925年生於馬賽一個熱愛音樂的家庭中，
4歲開始學習鋼琴，他音樂天賦極好，聽覺靈敏，有驚人的音樂記憶力。
10歲時進入馬賽音樂學院學習鋼琴和作曲。
1944年19歲的保羅開始了通俗樂隊的指揮生涯，
由於為唱片公司改編音樂樂曲而名聲日噪。
1965年他組建了自己的保羅-莫里亞輕音樂團,
自任首席指揮。
他十分注重將古典音樂與流行音樂緊密有機相結合，
形成了他那將優美的旋律，生動活潑的節奏和明朗的氣氛
結合起來的獨特風格。
1968年親手改編的一首樂曲“藍色的愛情Love is Blue”
在美國風狂流行並灌制了唱片，該唱片在音樂排行榜上連續8週排在第一名，
成為該年度的金唱片，並在行政協調會唱片比賽中獲得大獎，
同年Paul親自率團應邀赴美國巡演。
60年代後期，法國的音樂舞台在悄悄地進行一場革命，
樂團征服了世界，也成為法國人家喻戶曉的最通俗最著名的輕音樂團，
被譽為“情調音樂的使者”以及“二次世界大戰後的法國音樂之神”
儘管他在世界上享有崇高的聲譽，但他給人們的印象是溫文高雅，
風趣幽默與平易近人而成為世界級明星之一，
在世界30多個國家進行了數百場的演出。
Paul於1998年告別舞台，但是他的樂隊仍是派往各國的音樂使者。
他於2006年11月3日在法國佩皮尼昂市逝世，享年81歲。
他生前在世界許多國家和地區舉辦過音樂會，
在日本和韓國舉辦的音樂會最多，在這兩個國家共舉辦過1200場音樂會。
Paul在日本有大批的追捧者，他的作品在那裡被視為音樂的最高標準。

龔秋霞

龔秋霞,原名龔莎莎、1918年出生，江蘇崇明人，
中國著名電影演員, 15歲時參加上海梅花歌舞團，
出道比周璇和白虹早,
在該團遍歷大江南北，遠涉東南亞，進行歌舞表演，
成為本團臺柱, 是著名的“五虎將”之一。
1936年登上影壇，第一部影片《父母子女》。
1937年主演了夏衍編劇、張石川導演的影片《壓歲錢》一舉成名。
後主演影片“古塔奇案” ，在其中主唱的插曲“秋水伊人” ，
曾流行一時。因其能歌善舞，後成為影歌雙棲演員。
抗日戰爭期間在上海民光，新華，國華等影片公司主演“歌兒救母記” ，
“歌聲淚痕”等影片。
1942年後在中聯，華影拍攝影片。
1946年赴香港，加入大中華影片公司。
1949年後在長城，鳳凰等影片公司拍攝近六十部影片，
多扮演賢妻良母類型的角色，主要有“花街” ，
“兒女經” ， “寸草心” ， “中秋月” ，
“荳蔻年華“ ， ”雷雨“ ， ”三笑“等。

Based on the book Le Morte d'Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory, Knights of the Round Table was the first film made by M-G-M using the wide-screen process known as CinemaScope. The picture was also the first wide-screen feature film to be shot in England. Taylor never felt comfortable playing this kind of characters that he called his ''iron jockstrap'' roles, in spite of box office success. Ava Gardner didn't enjoy playing her part either. However, I can't imagine anyone better suited to interpret Lancelot and Guinevere.Robert Taylor plays the noble knight Lancelot of the Lake, who, in 6th century England, becomes the most conspicuous member of the Order of Knights of the Round Table and the best friend of the King of England Arthur Pendragon (Mel Ferrer). Thanks to Lancelot, Arthur defeats Modred (Stanley Baker), the knight champion of the Arthur's half sister Morgan LeFay (Anne Crawford), who had refused to recognize Arthur as King because she considered herself as the only legitimate offspring of the late king. But Lancelot must not only fight against the King's enemies but also against his feelings for the queen Guinevere (Ava Gardner) with whom he has fallen madly in love and who loves him too. The ambitious Modred and Morgan LeFay use their knowledge of this relationship to destroy both, the friendship between Arthur and Lancelot and the King Arthur's Round Table. One night Modred's men finds Guinevere in Lancelot's rooms and they are arrested for high treason. Lancelot fights them off and flees with Guinevere, but they are tried in absentia at the Round Table and declared guilty...

The Lion In Winter 冬獅

The Lion in Winter is a 1968 historical costume drama made by Avco Embassy Pictures, based on the Broadway play by James Goldman. It was directed by Anthony Harvey and produced by Joseph E. Levine from Goldman's adaptation of his own play, The Lion in Winter. There was a remake in 2003.

The Lion in Winter is set during Christmas 1183, at Henry Plantagenet's château and primary residence in Chinon, Anjou, within the Angevin Empire of medieval France. Henry wants his son Prince John (1166-1216, the future King John of England 1199-1216) to inherit his throne, while his wife Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine (whom he keeps locked in Salisbury Tower) wants their son Prince Richard the Lionheart (1157-1199, the future King Richard I of England 1189-1199). Meanwhile, King Philip II of France, the son of Eleanor's ex-husband, has given his half-sister Alais, who is currently Henry's mistress, to the future heir, and demands either the wedding or the return of her dowry.
As a ruse, Henry agrees to give Alais to Richard and make him heir. He makes a side deal with Eleanor for her freedom in return for Aquitaine, to be given to John. The deal is revealed at the wedding, making Richard refuse to go through with the ceremony. Eleanor, having lost again, masochistically asks Henry to kiss Alais in front of her, and then looks on in horror as they perform a mock marriage ceremony. Having believed Henry's intentions, John, at the direction of his other brother Prince Geoffrey, Duke of Brittany (1158-1186), plots with Philip to make war on England. Henry finds out, dismisses all three sons as unsuitable, and locks them in the dungeon. He makes plans to travel to Rome for an annulment, so that he can have new sons with Alais, but she says he will never be able to release his sons from prison or they will threaten the new sons. Henry sees that she is right and condemns them to death, but cannot actually put them to death and lets them escape. He and Eleanor go back to hoping for the future.
The Lion in Winter is fictional: there was no Christmas Court at Chinon in 1183; there was a Christmas court at Caen in 1182; none of the dialogue and action is historic, though the outcomes of the characters and the background are historically accurate. In reality, Henry had many mistresses and many illegitimate children; the "Rosamund" mentioned in the film was Henry II's mistress until she died. The article on the Revolt of 1173-1174 describes the historical events leading to the play's events.

顧媚

顧媚原名顧嘉瀰﹐享有“小雲雀”的美譽﹐早年於廣西讀書﹐
後來輾轉間於廣州﹑香港兩地工作﹐1951年正式投入歌唱事業﹐
除了於歌廳中演唱外﹐也曾在新加坡發展﹐
此時與同在當地演唱的方逸華結為好友﹐
後來認識了作曲家李厚襄﹐在他的幫助下於大長城﹑
飛利浦灌錄唱片及作電影幕後代唱﹐
代表作便有“阿里山的姑娘”﹑“我心裡的太陽”﹑
“母親你在何方” 等﹐並且也嘗試創作﹐
由白光主唱的“醉在你懷中” 便是她的處女作。
同期她分別為獨立製片及新華拍攝電影﹐
另外也曾於泰國發展﹐拍攝多部泰語電影﹐
1961年憑主唱電影“不了情” 的主題曲插曲而聲名大噪﹐
同年也簽約邵氏成為基本合約演員﹐
此後8年的演員生涯都在邵氏渡過﹐
除了演出“紅樓夢”﹑“藍與黑” 等多部電影外﹐
也於1964年首次在邵氏出任女主角﹐拍攝“小雲雀”。
1968年一償多年的願望簽約百代唱片﹐
可惜已是她歌唱事業的尾聲。
同期她感到影圈發展未如理想﹐於是醉心畫畫﹐
此後在畫壇取下驕人的成績。
1998年為了胞弟顧嘉輝的邀請﹐
首次答允復出﹐於“輝黃演唱會”
中擔任特別嘉賓﹐這也是多年來僅此的一次。

張帆

張帆或許沒太多人會認識﹐但這調子﹐
相信許多人都會懂得哼。

張帆 (1922- 2007)﹐原名張執中﹐上海浦東人﹐
1935年才13歲的她進了由黎錦暉一手創辦的“明月歌舞團”﹐
她的藝名就是由黎錦暉所改的﹐這時期她也曾隨團去到新加坡一帶表演﹐
王人美﹑周璇﹑嚴華等也在其中。1938年開始灌錄唱片﹐
她的首張留聲唱片便是麗歌出版的“滿場飛”。
她曾灌錄過約十幾張唱片﹐都是1949年前的錄音﹐
分別由百代及麗歌出品﹐包括臭蟲歌﹑桃花朵朵紅﹑
我還有一線希望﹑朦朧月﹑蘇堤春曉﹑賀新年﹑我要夢見你﹑
我的心﹑荒野的花朵﹑水上鴛鴦﹑新月上草原﹑家鄉﹑滿場飛﹑
夜裡廂﹑暖昧的愛﹑村姑之戀﹑針線本相連﹑嘆煙花﹑
故鄉曲及唯一愛的路等。
1940年加入新華影業從影﹐其後拍過的電影包括
“上海淘金記”(1941)﹑“小老虎”(1942)﹑
“天外笙歌” (1944) 及相思債 (1948) 等電影。
1942年與龔秋霞﹑陳琦及陳娟娟合演“四姊妹”﹐
之後義結金蘭﹐也在男友徐一亢的支持下經營四姊妹咖啡店﹐
其後張徐兩人更在1945年共偕連理﹐婚後育有一子四女。
1947年四人在胡心靈執導下﹐又再攜手演了大中華出品的的“四美圖”
﹐更分別跟陳娟娟合唱了“我們要爸爸”及與三姊妹合唱了“郊遊曲”。
中國解放後﹐她參加了人民解放軍﹑
又先後在南京軍區前線話劇團及八一電影製片廠擔任演員﹐
2001年﹐張帆從軍隊中退休, 於2007年10月22日逝世。

白虹

白虹原名白麗珠, 北京人, 中國三四十年代著名影星，歌星,
是“北平三白”之一（其他兩位是白光，白楊），
白虹一生在歌，影藝術上都有不俗的成就。
13歲那年，明月歌舞團從上海到北京招募團員，
她順利地被錄取了，從此以白虹的藝名步入上海的演藝圈。
30年代初期，白虹在明月社老闆黎錦輝的介紹下，
出演過“人間仙子”和“國色天香”兩部電影，
但她在歌壇的表現還是更為耀眼的歌唱事業為主。
此時的白虹嗓音雖然甜美，但歌藝的成熟還是30年代後期的事情，
歌曲“郎是春日風”是她這一時期的代表作。
由於白虹的發音準確，每每能將感情與詞意融會貫通，
令聆聽者更易領會歌詞的含義，因此她的演唱感染力很強，
與周璇，龔秋霞齊名，被譽為“三大歌後”之一。
1934年，在上海各家電台聯合舉辦歌星比賽中，
白虹以領先二百多票的成績摘得桂冠，
而位列次席的便是後來大名鼎鼎的“金嗓子”周璇。
提到白虹，就不得不提到著名作曲家黎錦光，
白虹早期的歌曲幾乎全部出自黎錦光之手，
兩人更結為夫婦一時傳為佳話，
被認為是美滿的歌壇伉儷，直到1950年的年倆人登報聲明離異。
後與原上海話劇小生毛燕華結婚，在北京參加話劇工作，
1970年，白虹退休。
40年代時白虹的事業鼎盛期，她開始演唱不同歌路的曲目，
風格偏於輕鬆活潑的類型。
其中，她最擅長的是演唱爵士風格的歌曲，
如“得不到的愛情” ， “惱人的秋雨“ ，
”愛情與黃金“ ， ”雨不灑花花不紅“等。
白虹的音域非常廣闊，有歌評家評她：
“歌喉嘹亮就像陽光普照，能激發人們高遠的情懷。
”她的“賣湯丸”至今教人琅琅上口，
和嚴華合唱的“人海飄航“ ，是早期著名的探戈歌曲，
”郎如春日風“更是代表作，後來也有不少歌星翻唱。
1992年5月28日白虹因癌症去世，享年73歲。而在時代樂壇上，
她的光彩將永不褪色。

卡門Carmen

法國鬼才作曲家比才的「卡門」（Carmen）舉世聞名，
他將吉普賽女郎的妖野狂放和不馴，西班牙男人的癡情，
描寫得淋漓盡致。　　

卡門創作過程並非十分順利，而完成後也拖了將近一年才上演。
由於劇中女主角是一位不道德(18世紀的標準)的吉普賽女郎，
一般的女演員不肯演，後來找到女主角，
歌劇院老闆又認為這個充滿偷情、打鬥、
自私、殺戮的劇本還是不要上演的好。
為了這些原因，比才把卡門的版權賣給了別人。　　
1875年3月3日，卡門終於上演，首演的掌聲很少，
他失望的離開歌劇院。
二十三天後比才也與世長遲了,
但死去的比才並不知他的觀眾事實上很喜歡這齣歌劇，
他們不拍手是因為怕別人抨擊的偽善舉動。
比才自以為卡門是自己生平最失敗作品，
怎知越來越多人來看他的卡門，
甚至於1904年一年內更創下一千場次以上的上演記錄。
卡門成為他所有作品中最成功的代表作。。
（一說比才於上演後三月看到自己作品成功才含笑辭世。）。

1965年開始對印度教發生興趣, 多次到印度,
亦有與其他Beatles成員同行, 最後改信了印度教。

作這首歌的曲詞讚誦的是印度教三大天神之一
毗濕奴Vishnu(保護之神),
毗濕奴有十大化身, 其中第八個是黑天Krishna, 。
(第九個是佛陀釋迦牟尼)
歌的前半部和唱是用耶教的 - 哈利路亞Hallelujah 意即讚美主,
其後是以印度教的大黑天經Hare Krishna的經文作結。

有關耶蘇生平的電影最早的一部是1927年
Cecil B. DeMille拍的The King of Kings。

這部 King of Kings萬王之王是美高挴於1961年拍成推出的,
這也是美高梅唯一的聖經大片。
故事內容大約跟據聖經所載, 從約瑟與瑪利亞回耶路撒冷,
耶蘇出生, 小孩時期, 受约翰施洗, 傳道, 受審, 最後被釘十字架及復活。

在以前介绍的影片, 都不會出現耶蘇的面目,
這是第一次由演員以真面目演耶蘇。

這部電影也是教會用來傳道, 用得最多的一部。

Barabbas 這部1961年電影的主人翁就是來自這段聖經。
原著是來自諾貝爾獎得主 Pär Lagerkvist1950年的同名小說。

描述的是聖經裡的一個故事，一個叫做巴拉巴（Anthony Quinn安東尼昆飾）的人，
開始是一個無惡不作的的壞旦, 被捕而面臨死亡，但他的生命竟是用耶穌被釘到十字架上,
而煥回來，接著受到試煉與迷惘，才真正明白到上帝愛的真諦，
於是甘心情願地信服主。

故事约發生在公元二十六年, 是羅馬軍隊侵佔以色列的時期。
新任總督抵達以色列，其部下軍團司令官梅瑟拉Messala凱旋回到故鄉,
遇見舊友賓虛，但由於兩人政見不合,
梅瑟拉以羅馬為榮, 賓虛支持猶太人反抗暴政,

賓虛被賣作奴隸，送往別處途中, 飽受欺凌,

後來在軍艦上當奴隸水手，一次，兵艦遭海盜船襲擊，
賓虛救了艦隊司令官的性命，獲得了自由，
司令官將他帶到羅馬，收為養子。
在羅馬的競技場上成為一名著名鬥士。

不久賓虛回到耶路撒冷，米撒拉出於妒忌，向賓虛挑戰賽馬車。
在比賽場上米撒拉多次暗害賓虛，最終自己卻命喪車輪下。
米撒拉的死並沒有緩解他對羅馬帝國統治的仇恨，
他不斷尋找母親和妹妹, 但始終沒有找到, 只有相信她們已經喪生。
而事實上賓虛的母親和妹妹在獄中得了麻風病，被送到了麻風谷。
深愛賓虛的老管家的女兒埃斯塔最後把事實真相告訴了賓虛，
賓虛找到了家人，家人卻不願走出麻風谷, 為免外界的鄙視。

此刻正是耶穌被判罪並送往刑場的時候,
賓虛發覺原來耶穌就是以水救他的恩人,
他本想以水回報, 但被守衛趕走,
賓虛親眼看見耶穌被釘在十字架上為世人受罪，
他被耶穌的言行所感動，復仇的火焰逐漸平息，
內心也趨於平靜。
而賓虛家人的麻風病也在此刻奇蹟地康復了。

是史上最賣坐的宗教史詩式電影,
故事取材自《舊約聖經》的《出埃及記》，講述猶太先知摩西領導以色列人出走埃及,
並於接受上帝耶和華頒佈的「十誡」的故事。

導演是賽西·德米爾。德米爾早在1923年已導演了同名的無聲電影《十誡》。

內容:
天主教稱梅瑟，新教稱摩西（摩西或摩西卡משה ，
標準希伯來語莫塞Mōšeh泰伯利亞希伯來語，阿拉伯語موسى ）
是紀元前十三世紀的猶太人先知，
舊約聖經前五本書的執筆者。帶領在埃及過著奴隸生活的以色列人，
到達神所預備的流著奶和蜜之地─ ─迦南（巴勒斯坦的古地名，
在今天約旦河與死海的西岸一帶），
神藉著摩西寫下“十誡”給祂的子民遵守，
並建造會幕，教導祂的子民敬拜祂。
“聖經”中記載，由於移居到埃及的以猶太人人勞動勤奮，
並且以擅長貿易著稱，所以積攢了許多財富。
這引起了執埃及政者的不滿。
另外加之執政者對於以色列人的恐懼，
所以法老下令殺死新出生的猶太男孩，
梅瑟出生後其母親為保其性命“就取了一個蒲草箱，
抹上石漆和石油，將孩子放在裡頭，
把箱子擱在河邊的蘆荻中“ 。
後來被來洗澡的埃及公主發現，帶回了宮中。
梅瑟長大後一次失手殺死了一名毆打猶太人的士兵，
為了躲避法老的追殺，梅瑟來到了米甸並娶祭司的女兒西坡拉為妻，
生有一子。梅瑟一日受到了神的感召，回到埃及，
並帶領居住在埃及的猶太人，離開那裡返回故鄉。
在回鄉的路上，梅瑟得到了神所頒布的“十誡” ，
即“摩西十誡” 。

梅瑟最享盛名時期很可能是西元前十三世紀，
因為普遍認為“出埃及記”中的法老拉姆薩斯二世就死於西元前1237年。
因為他的名字來自埃及語而不是希伯來語，意思是“兒童”或“兒子” ，
從他出世不到五百年中，梅瑟為所有的猶太人所敬仰。
到西元後五百年，他的名氣和聲望同基督教一道傳遍歐洲許多地區。
一百年以後，穆罕默德認為梅瑟是真正的先知。
隨著伊斯蘭教的傳播，梅瑟在整個伊斯蘭世界裡（甚至包括埃及）
成了受人敬仰的人物。
梅瑟在他死後三千多年的今天，仍同樣受到猶太教徒，

“摩西十誡”被稱為人類歷史上第二部成文法律，
體現了平等的“人神契約”精神：誰要毀約，誰就會受到上帝的懲罰。

摩西十誡（或稱莫瑟斯十誡，十誡），是猶太人法律的一部分。

第一條：我是耶和華-你的上帝，曾將你從埃及地為奴之家領出來，
除了我之外，你不可有別的神。

第二條：不可為自己雕刻偶像，也不可做什麼形象彷彿上天，
下地，和地底下，水中的百物。不可跪拜那些像，
也不可事奉它，因為我耶和華-你的上帝是忌邪的上帝。

The Greatest Story Ever Told originated as a U.S. radio series in 1947, consisting of half-hour episodes inspired by the Gospels. The series was adapted into a 1949 novel by Fulton Oursler, a senior editor at Reader's Digest.[1] Darryl F. Zanuck, the head of 20th Century Fox, acquired the film rights to the Oursler novel short after its publication, but never brought it to pre-production.[2]
In 1958, George Stevens was producing and directing The Diary of Anne Frank at 20th Century Fox when he became aware that the studio owned the rights to the Oursler property. Stevens created The Greatest Story Productions, which existed for the sole purpose of bringing the novel to the screen.[2]
The screenplay for The Greatest Story Ever Told took two years to complete. Stevens originally collaborated with Ivan Moffet, then collaborated with James Lee Barrett. This marked the first and only time that Stevens received screenplay credit for a film he directed.[2] Ray Bradbury and Reginald Rose were considered for input on the screenplay, but neither writer participated in the project. The poet Carl Sandburg was solicited to offer input, though it is not certain if any of his contributions were included in the final screenplay. Sandburg, however, did receive screen credit for “creative association.”[2]
During the pre-production phase, the film’s financial excesses began to grow. Stevens commissioned French artist Andre Girard to prepare 352 oil paintings of Biblical scenes that would be used as storyboards. Stevens also traveled to the Vatican to have a private audience with Pope John XXIII, for consultation and advice on the project.[1]
In August 1961, 20th Century Fox announced it would withdraw its support from the project, which already spent $2.3 million without any footage being shot. Stevens was given two years to find another studio that would finance the project, or 20th Century Fox would reclaim its rights to the property. Stevens successfully moved the film to United Artists.[1]

Stevens cast Swedish actor Max von Sydow to play Jesus. Von Sydow had never appeared in an English-language film prior to this, and was best known for his performances in Ingmar Bergman’s dramatic films.[3]
The Greatest Story Ever Told featured an uncommonly large ensemble of well-known actors, many of whom appeared in relatively brief guest appearances. Some critics would later complain that the large cast distracted from the solemnity of the subject matter, most notably in the appearance of John Wayne as the Roman centurion who comments on the Crucifixion by stating: “Truly this man was the son of God.”[4]
Beyond von Sydow, the film’s primary cast consisted of Dorothy McGuire as the Virgin Mary, Charlton Heston as John the Baptist, Claude Rains as Herod the Great, Jose Ferrer as Herod Antipas, Telly Savalas as Pontius Pilate, Angela Lansbury as Claudia Procula, Martin Landau as Caiaphas, David McCallum as Judas Iscariot, Donald Pleasance as “The Dark Hermit” (a personification of Satan), Sidney Poitier as Simon of Cyrene, Roddy McDowall as Matthew, Joanna Dunham as Mary Magdalene, Joseph Schildkraut as Nicodemus, and John Wayne as The Centurion ref name=HHS />
Smaller and often fleeting roles (some lasting only a few seconds of screen time) were played by Michael Anderson Jr., Michael Ansara, Ina Balin, Carroll Baker, Robert Blake, Pat Boone, Victor Buono, John Considine, Richard Conte, Frank DeKova, Jamie Farr, David Hedison, Van Heflin, Russell Johnson, Robert Loggia, Sal Mineo, Nehemiah Persoff, Gary Raymond, David Sheiner, Marian Seldes, Harry Wilson , Shelley Winters and Ed Wynn.[1]

The Paper Chase

Expecting only the basic pressures of attending Harvard Law School, a serious, hard-working student named James T. Hart (Timothy Bottoms), a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota, finds himself the fearful adversary of the school's most imperious, sarcastic contracts professor, Charles W. Kingsfield, Jr. (John Houseman). Their relationship grows even more complex when the young man discovers that the woman he is dating is the professor's daughter (Lindsay Wagner). Edward Herrmann and James Naughton co-star as other law students. The film is an extremely faithful adaptation of the novel, but it adds to revelations not in the book: Hart's first name and middle initial (James T.), and the final grade that Hart got in Contract Law: an A (in both the novel and the film, Hart makes a paper airplane out of his final report card, and sends it sailing into the Atlantic Ocean without looking at it; in the film, a scene shows Kingsfield grading Hart's paper and awarding him an A).
Kingsfield's words of advice to his class (repeated in the introduction to each of the TV episodes): "You teach yourselves the law; I train your minds. You come in here with a skull full of mush; and if you survive, you'll leave thinking like a lawyer."

Barabbas is a 1961 film expanding on the career of Barabbas, from the Christian Passion narrative in the Gospel of Mark and other gospels. It starred Anthony Quinn as Barabbas, with Silvana Mangano, Katy Jurado, Arthur Kennedy, Harry Andrews, Ernest Borgnine, Vittorio Gassman, and Jack Palance, and was distributed by Columbia Pictures. The film, conceived as a grand Roman epic, was based on the Nobel-Prize winning novel Barabbas (1950) by Pär Lagerkvist. A previous film version of the novel, in Swedish, had been made in 1953.
The film of Lagerkvist's novel was directed by Richard Fleischer and shot in Rome under the supervision of producer Dino De Laurentiis. It included many spectacular scenes, including a battle of gladiators in a Cinecittà mock-up of the Colosseum, and a final crucifixion shot during a real eclipse of the sun. The music score by Mario Nascimbene contained a stark experimental component -- what the composer himself called 'new sounds', in order to demonstrate the eclipse as a supernatural event in the Judean age (see liner notes of CD of original soundtracks of Alexander the Great and Barabbas, music composed, orchestrated and conducted by Mario Nascimbene).
