Georgia Gibbs

Georgia Gibbs (1919 -2006)

mechanized duets or echo chamber background"自唱自和")

A Lover's Concerto (1965)

A Lover's Concerto (1965)

Toys
是改編自古典音樂家巴哈J.S.Bach的
Minuet in G major

Bach- minuet in G major

Enoch Light

ENOCH LIGHT

Enoch Light (1905 - 1978)

Hatari

Physical Olivia - Newton-John

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsxX3ue5vR4

I'm saying all the things that I know you'll like,
makin' good conversation I gotta handle you just right,
you know what I mean
I took you to an intimate restaurant,
then to a suggestive movie
There's nothin' left to talk about,
unless it's horizontally
CHORUS
Let's get physical, physical,
I wanna get physical,
let's get into physical
Let me hear your body talk, your body talk,
let me hear your body talk
Let's get physical,
physical, I wanna get physical,
let's get into physical
Let me hear your body talk,
your body talk, let me hear your body talk
I've been patient,
I've been good, tried to keep my hands on the table
It's gettin' hard this holdin' back, you know what I mean
I'm sure you'll understand my point of view,
we know each other mentally
You gotta know that you're bringin' out the animal in me
Let's get physical, physical, I wanna get physical,
let's get into physical
Let me hear your body talk,
your body talk, let me hear your body talk
Let's get physical, physical,
I wanna get physical, let's get into physical
Let me hear your body talk, your body talk,
let me hear your body talk
Oh, let's get physical, physical,
I wanna get physical, let's get into physical
Let me hear your body talk, your body talk,
let me hear your body talk
Let's get animal, animal,
I wanna get animal, let's get into animal
Let me hear your body talk, your body talk,
let me hear your body talk
Let me hear your body talk
Let me hear your body talk

Stay away from my window
Stay away from my backdoor too
Disconnect the telephone line
Relax baby and draw that blind
Kick off your shoes, and sit right down
Loosen up that pretty French gown
Let me pour ya a good long drinkOoh,
baby don't you hesitate, 'cause
{Refrain}
Tonight's the night
It's gonna be alright'Cause
I love you girl
Ain't nobody gonna stop us now
C'mon, angel, my hearts on fire
Don't deny your man's desire
You'd be a fool to stop this tide
Spread your wings and let me come inside, 'cause
{Refrain}
Don't say a word, my virgin child
Just let your inhibitions run wild
The secret is about to unfold
Upstairs before the night's too old

MAMBO ITALIANO

Mambo Italiano

Bob Merrill

1951
Radio stations ban Dottie O'Brien's "Four or Five Times" and Dean Martin's "Wham Bam, Thank You Ma'am" fearing they are suggestive.
1952
The Weavers are blacklisted due to the leftist political beliefs and associations of several members.
1953
The phrase "gardenia perfume linger on a pillow" is altered to "a seaplane rising from an ocean billow" in the song "These Foolish Things."
Six counties in South Carolina pass legislation outlawing jukebox operation anytime when within hearing distance of a church.
1954
Stephen Foster songs are edited for radio to remove words such as "massa" and "darky."
Webb Pierce's "There Stands the Glass" is banned from radio because the lyrics are thought to condone heavy drinking.
Congressional representative Ruth Thompson introduces legislation that is meant to ban the mailing of certain "pornographic" records through the U.S. mail.
The Boston Catholic Youth Organization begins a campaign of policing dances and lobbying disc jockeys to stop playing "obscene" songs at record hops and on the radio.
For radio airplay the perceived drug reference "I get no kick from cocaine," is changed to "I get perfume from Spain." in Cole Porter's classic "I Get A Kick Out of You."
The editorial, "Control the Dimwits," which appears in the September 24 issue of Billboard, condemns R&B songs that contain double entendre references to sex. In response, police in Long Beach, California, and Memphis, Tennessee, confiscate jukeboxes and fine their owners. Similar jukebox bans occur across the country.
In October, WDIA and several other large popular music radio stations ban several songs for their sexually suggestive lyrics. The station runs on-air announcements saying, "WDIA, your good-will station, in the interest of good citizenship, for the protection of morals and our American way of life does not consider this record, [name of song], fit for broadcast on WDIA. We are sure all you listeners will agree with us."
The ABC network bans the Rosemary Clooney hit "Mambo Italiano," saying it did not meet the network's "standards for good taste."
1955
Former radio deejay Pat Boone begins a career by releasing "sanitized" versions of black R&B hits. Boone's versions of these songs often contain edited lyrics: such as substituting "drinkin' Coca Cola" for "drinkin' wine" in T-Bone Walker's "Stormy Monday" and "Pretty little Susie is the girl for me" instead of "Boys, don't you know what she do to me" in Little Richard's "Tutti Fruitti."
In one week's time during April, Chicago radio stations receive 15,000 complaint letters protesting their broadcast of rock music as part of an organized campaign. The letters call for the station to remove controversial songs from their playlists.
Variety runs a three-part series on what they term "leer-ics," or R&B songs with obscene lyrics, calling for censorship of the recording industry. The articles compare these songs to dirty postcards and chastises the music industry for selling "their leer-ic garbage by declaring that's what kids want."
The Juvenile Delinquency and Crime Commission of Houston, Texas, bans more than 30 songs it considers obscene. The Commission's list is almost entirely comprised of black artists
Officials cancel rock and roll concerts scheduled in New Haven and Bridgeport, Connecticut; Boston; Atlanta; Jersey City and Asbury Park, New Jersey; Burbank, California; and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Observers mistake dancing at concerts for riots and fighting.
CBS television network cancels Alan Freed's Rock 'n Roll Dance Party after a camera shows Frankie Lymon (leader of the doo wop group Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers) dancing with a white girl.
Officials in San Diego and Florida police warn Elvis Presley that if he moves at all during his local performances, he will be arrested on obscenity charges.
1956
ABC Radio Network bans Billie Holiday's rendition of Cole Porter's "Love for Sale" from all of its stations because of its prostitution theme. Stations continue to play instrumental versions of the song.
Also in April, members of the White Citizens Council of Birmingham, Alabama, rush the stage at a Nat King Cole concert and beat the legendary performer. Seeing the reaction of Birmingham's young teen girls to Nat's crooning, the council members confuse Cole's music with newly popular R&B.
The Parks Department in San Antonio, Texas, removes all rock and roll records from jukeboxes located at city swimming pools, terming it "jumpy, hot stuff" that is unsuitable for teens.
Network officials ban the novelty hit "Transfusion" by Dot and Diamond from ABC, CBS, and NBC radios in June. According to one NBC executive, "There is nothing funny about a blood transfusion."
1957
Producers of the Ed Sullivan Show instruct cameramen to show Elvis Presley only from the waist up on his third and final appearance on the program on January 7th.
Fearing the effects of the "hedonistic, tribal rhythms" of rock and roll music, in March Chicago's Cardinal Stritch bans popular music from all Catholic-run schools.
Congress considers that legislation requires song lyrics to be screened and altered by a review committee before being broadcast or offered for sale.
1958
The Mutual Broadcasting System drops all rock and roll records from its network music programs, calling it "distorted, monotonous, noisy music."
1959
Link Wray's instrumental classic "Rumble" is dropped from radio stations across the country in January - even though it has no lyrics. The title of the song is thought to be suggestive of teenage violence. When Wray appears on American Bandstand to perform the song, Dick Clark introduces Wray and his band, but refuses to mention the song's title.
Wanting to secure an appearance on the hit television program American Bandstand, singer Lloyd Price agrees to re-cut the lyrics to his song "Stagger Lee," removing all references to violence.

'Forbidden' music found in Hitler's secret record collection

RELATIVES of a Russian officer who looted Nazi dictator
Adolf Hitler's Berlin bunker in 1945 have unearthed the Fuehrer's personal record collection among his belongings.
What they found does not make sweet music to those who still worship the racial quackery of mankind's greatest tormentor. For amid the Wagner and
Beethoven were works by Jewish and Russian composers - Hitler's greatest enemies - including Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and Borodin.
Throughout the 12-year lifespan of the
Third Reich, Hitler forbade his followers from listening to anything but German music. Even jazz was banned as "negro swamp music" and orchestras like the Berlin Philharmonic were forbidden from playing anything other than Teutonic classics.
Now, the pillaged recordings, taken by the Red Army officer Besymenski after Berlin fell in May 1945, show Hitler was a hypocrite as well as a monster.
Besymenski, himself a Jew, conducted the interrogation of Field Marshall von Paulus after the Sixth Army was destroyed at
Stalingrad in 1943. When Berlin fell, the Russian officer was dispatched with others to make an inventory of artifacts in the bunker and Hitler's destroyed Reichschancellery above it.
Inside concealed cabinets he found the records and decided to keep them as souvenirs. According to his daughter,
Alexandra Besymenski, her father first showed them to her in 1991. The much-honoured history professor at the Moscow Military Academy hid them in his loft. "I stumbled across them as I was looking for a football," Alexandra said. The family thinks the captain, who died two months ago aged 86, hid the records - bearing the stamp 'Fuehrer headquarters' - because he did not want to be thought of as a common looter.
The usual Hitler favourites are there; Beethoven's 'Ninth Symphony', the 'Flying Dutchman' by Wagner and works by
Brahms and Schumann. But the discovery of the recording of Russians and Jews reveal Hitler did not practice what he preached. "I think my father found it astonishing that millions of Jews and Russians had to die because of the ideology of Hitler, and here he was enjoying their art," said Alexandra, who has yet to decide what to do with the collection.

Gloomy Sunday

GLOOMY SUNDAY-BILLIE HOLIDAY

GLOOMY SUNDAY (陰霾下的星期天)

Sunday is Gloomy,
My hours are slumberless,
Dearest, the shadows I live with are numberless ,
Little white flowers will never awaken you ,
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thought of ever returning you
Would they be angry if I thought of joining you
Gloomy Sunday
Sunday is gloomy
with shadows I spend it all
My heart and I have decided to end it all
Soon there’ll be flowers and prayers that are sad,
I know, let them not weep,
Let them know that I’m glad to go
Death is no dream,
For in death I’m caressing you
With the last breath of my soul I’ll be blessing you
Gloomy Sunday
Dreaming I was only dreaming
I wake and I find you
Asleep in the deep of
My heart Dear
Darling I hope that my dream never haunted you
My heart is telling you how much I wanted you
Gloomy Sunday

And my heart's opened wide when you're gone it fades inside
And seems to have diedAl-di-la
I wonder as I drifted where you were
Al-di-la the fog around me lifted there you were

Somewhere out there
Linda Ronstadt & James Ingram

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRaieyN77UI
作曲James Horner, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil

Somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight
Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there
And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky
Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true
And even though I know how very far apart we are
it helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky
Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there

Woman In Love - 樂壇大姐Barbra Streisand

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHqAllSQ_eM

Life is a moment in space
When the dream is gone
Its a lonelier place
I kiss the morning goodbye
But down inside you know
We never know why
The road is narrow and long
When eyes meet eyes
And the feeling is strong
I turn away from the wall
I stumble and fall
But I give you it all...

Chorus:
I am a woman in love
And I do anything
To get you into my world
And hold you within
Its a right I defend
Over and over again
What do I do?
With you eternally mine
In love there is
No measure of time
We planned it all at the start
That you and i
Would live in each others hearts
We may be oceans away
You feel my love
I hear what you say
No truth is ever a lie
I stumble and fall
But I give you it all
Repeat chorus
I am a woman in love
And Im talking to you
Do you know how it feels?
What a woman can doIts a right
That I defend over and over again......
